Do you ever feel like some days are just crazier than others?  Tuesdays are that day for me.  My 10-year-old son is currently a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo.  As you can imagine, his dedication keeps us busy.  Tuesdays are his Taekwondo class nights.

We start our typical homeschooling day (yes, we homeschool too!) before 8:00 a.m.  Fortunately, the curriculum we use doesn’t require my assistance (much).  We lay out our school day before I start my work day, looking at what quizzes and tests may need to be administered that day.  He sits in my office behind me to take all quizzes and tests.  No temptation for him to try to cheat.

Lunch…kids are a creature of habit, right?  Noon, no matter what, my son is ready for lunch.  Somehow he manages to finish a class right at noon, every day.  It’s miraculous!  He has some foods he can prepare himself.  (I just have to remind him not to put the spoon in the microwave…yes that has happened, and we had to go purchase a new microwave.)   On days I have meetings at noon, he fends for himself.  Most days though, I take 5 minutes to make him something.

I grade homework, quizzes, and tests in between client calls if time allows.  If it’s been a busy day, my husband and I grade in the evenings.  Then 4:00 hits.  That’s my quitting time.  If you’ve ever been on a call (or will have a call) with me that goes past 4:00, I apologize.  You get cut off!

My house gets a little bit crazy at 4:00 p.m.  I make my son a light supper, his dobok (his ATA uniform) is put on, and we are out the door at 4:30 to make it to his black belt class.  I feel like I’m running around crazy trying to get myself and him ready to go by 4:30.

We get home around 7:30, snack, shower, then bed at 8:00 if he can be ready by then.  Once he’s in bed, I breathe a sigh of relief…I made it!  I made it through another Tuesday.
